Rotterdam- The First TPM of Erasmus project " Real Maths Talk"

From 12 ^th to 15^th of October, at Comenius College of Rotterdam, (The Netherlands) took  place the first of several meetings of the Erasmus+ project titled "Real Maths Talk". This Partnerships among schools of The Netherlands (coordinator), Turkey, United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and Lithuania, funded by the UE involves  teachers aiming to less problems for students in understanding mathematics and to improve  ability to talk about this subject.

The project team will meet to discuss and create a toolkit of lesson resources to develop students’ literacy skills in mathematics, specifically their spoken language skills, the correct use of mathematical vocabulary, the ability to explain their mathematical thinking verbally

The new international approach should be a stimulation for both students and teachers who will change their pedagogy to include specific participatory strategies within mathematics lessons They started, during the 2 days working meetings, to compare their local methodologies and methods, and discuss about common topic  in the different curricula they should base on next months

Cooperation and communication will continue by online meetings, emails, social networks and the project website.  Teachers will film and upload their learning activities, the discussion on a motivating test and the short didactic films turned by each partner to share and comment about at next meeting in Bradford, United Kingdom  at the end of November
